Havin' fun at the beach...Vacation Day 1

Ok...lets see if we can start up with vacation pictures. Hold on tight, it might be a long ride! I am going to try for a day of vacation per day until we finish up. Just keep in mind that as of today, I have been to the doctor with either myself or a different kid almost every day since we have been home so hopefully I can get a break in between whiny kiddos to throw a few pics your way! Wish me luck.

Boog loved the white sandy beach. It was nothing like Daddy or the kids had ever seen. We stopped in Destin, Fl. on the way to Disney. We thought it was a (sort of) half way point in our trip and would make for a nice break from the car. Boy were we right! The kids LOVED the water and sand. Our beach is disgusting so it was a nice treat for them all. We all wished we would have had more time to spend there.

Tutti-Frutti loved the beach too, but he was in it for the sand. He thought it was yummy! I know! Yuck. I thought that once he got it in his mouth the first time he would think so too, well...not so much. I guess he loved the taste of it. And NO...I did not just let him have a buffet but he did get a few handfuls over the course of the time we were there. Most of us had a picnic lunch with sandwiches, lil man had a sand picnic.

Sour Apple was hard at work the whole time we were there making a huge sand tunnel for the water to go through. You would not believe the people that looked down at him and continued to walk right through what he was building. It was rude. Boog had fun helping him.

Lemon Drop spent most of her time in the water. The water was gorgeous and felt great. It was clear blue and perfect. Man I would love to live there. I can for sure see a trip back to the beach in our future.

The kids played so well together! See, that is reason enough to move there, right?!

Boog hard at work. He loved playing in the sand. We were all sad to leave this beautiful place. It was an awesome day!
It was not horribly hot but man the sun was beating down on us. The resort had umbrellas and 2 chairs for rent for $35! Can you believe they were that much? Well, we went to a souvenir shop and picked up an umbrella and 2 woven mats for $10! Cannot beat that! When we got up, I slathered everyone up with SPF 70 and within a few hours of being there, we (ok, not Tutti-Frutti, I am not that horrible of a parent) were already baked. Sheesh...if we moved there, we would have to be more careful! LOL

Can you see the concentration :p

What a great day!

We were all too sandy to dig out the camera for a picture of the final finished product! Sorry! And, in case you are wondering why this post has more of the male children than the female...well, let's just go with she was wearing a bathing suit and I chose pictures that I felt ok posting. Geez, that makes it sound like she was wearing a skimpy suit...lol, and no she was not. Hope you enjoy "day 1," we sure did.
