Tell me I didn't!

Oh my...what a night!

Sometimes I am glad the children do not hear exactly what we say.

Tonight while getting the kids ready for bed, Lemon Drop came to tell me good night. As she was leaning down, I see that she had not yet brushed her teeth.

I say, "You have not brushed your teeth."

Her: "Uh"

Me: "Well, I guess you are going to have pecker speckled teeth!" (In my head, "WHAT? Pecker speckled teeth! What did I just say to my child???")

That is what I said...

This is what she heard: "Well, I guess you are going to have paper teeth!"

This is what I meant to say: "Well, I guess you are going to have pepper speckled teeth!"

What Daddy heard: EXACTLY what I did say!

I thought I might have to go and pick him up from the floor in another room. He grinned and took off for another bedroom for what I can only imagine was stifling his laughter!

Boy I sure am glad my kids do not always hear exactly what we say! Wheew!
