Happy 6th Birthday "I"

Here we are...once again, only this time a year later and another year older. I cannot believe that my sweet baby boy is 6 years old!!! This is my post from 2 years ago and this is last years post.

I know I have said it before, many times, but I really just cannot believe how fast time is flying by.

This time, 6 years ago, I met the most perfect little boy you can imagine. I have been blessed many times through the years with the birth of a new baby. There is just no feeling in the whole world like holding your newborn baby for the very first time. I am a firm believer at love at first sight. It has happened to me on many occasions.

This little boy is perfect.

He is funny.

He is definitely a silly monkey!

He is one of the most important people in my life.

He makes me smile.

He makes me laugh.

He has an ongoing love affair with Minnie Mouse.

He was once a precious pirate. "Ian Feathersword" is what we called him.

Before we knew it, he was turning 3! That was half his life ago!

He became a big brother, and he takes that title very seriously.

He is sweet and tender hearted.

He makes the best out of all situations. I admire him for that.

He has fun no matter what we are doing or where we are going.

He is our boy wonder.

He makes friends wherever he goes.

He is the life of the party.

He looks good in uniform.

Last year when he turned 5, it nearly broke my heart.

He loves his daddy with all of his heart.

He would much rather lick the icing off of the cupcake than eat the whole thing.

He loves to have fun and live life to the fullest.

He was once an "Injun Turtle" for a day.

When I found out that I was pregnant this last time, I hesitantly asked him if he wanted a baby brother or a baby sister. I was SURE he would say brother. Boy was I wrong. He explained that he wanted a baby sister because he already had a big brother and a big sister but he only had a baby brother so he needed a baby sister. He was so very excited when he found out that he was indeed getting the baby sister that he wanted.

He is growing up to be such a big boy. Way too fast for my liking.

He is honestly one of the sweetest kids I have ever known.

He loves to have fun with his siblings.

A few weeks before I had his precious little sister, he asked me where the next baby was going to sleep. I assumed he was talking about the one that we were about to have. He was not. He wanted to know where the baby he was sure we would have after his soon to be baby sister was going to sleep. I love that about him. He really really really already wants another sibling. He is serious when he asks why there will not be another baby and it hurts his feelings. I believe it. He loves his baby brother and sister. He says that when he is grown he wants to have 17 or 77 children.

He loves his baby sister and refers to her as, "Pretty Girl, Beautiful or Princess" and is always telling her how cute she is. It melts my heart.

I want to be him when I grow up. He is so laid back and carefree. I love that about him. He does not have a care in the world. He just lives his life day by day and has fun doing it. He has overcome many obstacles in his short 6 years. I cannot imagine what God has in store for our precious loving little boy. I know the plans are big!

He still talks about Minnie Mouse regularly. Like she is a part of our family.

I love that he is his own little person. He does not care what other people think.

Everyone loves him. He makes friends so easily and gets along with everyone.

I just love love love this picture.

I just love this boy.

He asks about Disney World every single day.

He is beautiful, inside and out.

I hope they are as close when they grow up as they are now. There is no stronger bond than that of brothers.

With his true love.

He is a really neat kid. He is smart, polite, loving, caring, responsible and one of the funniest people I know.

He can have fun in a fountain.

He adores his baby sister.

He went to kindergarten this year. They had mismatch day. He participated and he loved it. He has learned so much this year. He can read, he can add, he can subtract and he does wonderfully in school.

He has had many firsts this last year. Like "the first time he ever cut his own hair." Yea, that was fun!

He has been student of the week twice. He gets to bring the class bear, Bailey, home for the weekend and he loves that.

He had western (or GO Texan) day at school and he makes a very handsome cowboy.

He has a best friend.

He is a wonderful big brother.

He adores his baby brother. His baby brother adores him.

He is a total camera ham.

He is perfect.

He is amazing.

He is growing up way too fast.

He lost his very first tooth.

I cannot imagine my life without this precious baby boy. I asked him tonight before I put him in bed for the very last time as a 5 year old if he would still be my baby when he is 6. He said yes. He has been through so much in his short life but I believe that it has made him the person he is today. He is growing up more each day. I am so very proud of the little person his is becoming.

Next year he goes to 1st grade. Where does the time go?

I love him.

Happy Birthday Buddy! You're the BEST!!
