Welcome back...Not me! Monday!

Welcome back to Not Me! Monday, where we can be brutally honest with each other, and live to tell about it. I am so happy that we are back in business on Mondays and even more happier to announce that Baby Stellan is home with his family again! Woo hoo! When you are finished here, head on over to MckMama's blog to see a list of more not me's. You will be so glad you did!

Let's see...it has been so long, I am out of practice with Monday truths.

Last Sunday, we did not have the most awesome birthday party for Boog! (and for those of you who frequent this joint, he is still determined to stay 3...just ask him, he will tell you!) We did not have a fantastic time with nearly all of his friends in attendance! Are you kidding me? Nearly EVERYONE came! That is just awesome. You know, remembering back...we had Sour Apple's birthday party at a park one year and the same thing happened, nearly everyone came. Must be something about a birthday party at the park.

Monday, my sweet precious Tutti-Frutti did not have surgery to repair a hernia. Nope, not him! And since he did not, it certainly was not him who recovered beautifully! The happiest post surgery kid I have ever had dealings with.

Tuesday...yea Tuesday, it was not my birthday. Nope, not mine! I do not have birthdays anymore. I am getting too old for them, and since it was not my birthday, it was also not me who was tag teaming a puke clean up on "aisle 1" in the hallway AND the wall! Eeeew! So glad that was not me, that would be disgusting and who would want to do that on their birthday?!?

Since the throwing up was not happening at OUR house, Sour Apple did not in turn miss 3 days of school with a wicked stomach virus, so glad too because that might have meant that on Wednesday I would chose to take him to the doctor since there are wild news stories floating around about the ugly swine flu! Sheew...glad that was not us. You will be happy to know that it was ONLY a stomach virus. I honestly do not remember ever saying I was thankful for a stomach bug!

We did not stay cooped up in the house ALL week due to surgeries and stomach issues either. I am glad too because I get cabin fever. I have to get out!!!

Friday, we did not make our great escape for a few hours and go to the park. Nope, not us! That might have been considered irresponsible parenting on my part and we know that I am the perfect parent! HA!

Ah, lovely Saturday...we did not attempt to see the light at the end of the homework tunnel from 3 missed days of school! Nope, not us! Good thing too because I do not see the light ever appearing in that tunnel!!!

On a happier Saturday note, I did not have to get up at the crack of dark to wake the children for Boog's T-Ball game. And since we did not have a T-Ball game, I cannot begin to tell you howfreakin'hilarious those are! (Gonna work on getting some video up of that soon!)

After the game, I did not come home and threaten Boog about having to take a nap. We did not get in the bed, lay down, nurse Tutti-Frutti, put him to bed, almost get Boog to sleep only to be roused by the doorbell! Seriously!! The doorbell! At nap time! The one day I am going to make sure it happens! Who in the world could be at MY door, on a Saturday, at nap time, ringing my doorbell? They had BETTER have a good reason...(storming to door, catching that yapping dog, fuming the whole time) OMG!! It is our dear friends from up north (well, a few hours north of us anyway) unannounced! We have not seen them in months, since right after Thanksgiving to be exact, when we went up for their sweet son's funeral. How wonderful it was to see them! I have never been as surprised as I was right at that very moment. It made my day, my weekend, my week, probably my month! We love and miss them dearly and would love to have them back down here with us but are so glad that they can be near their daughter, son-in-law and precious grandson. So...needless to say, the doorbell ringer was off of the hook. And when they came in, Boog did not tell Mrs. C. that she had indeed saved him...saved him from the awful fate...of a Saturday afternoon nap!

Saturday night, Sour Apple was not ready to get out of the house, for the first time in days, to go to a friend's birthday party. Good thing too, he might have had a good time! Lemon Drop was not already at a friends so we did not get to enjoy dinner, almost alone, at a neat little place. We did not enjoy our food outside either.

Sunday morning, it was not me who rolled my eyes when my mother wanted to go to the dollar store. Are you kidding me? The dollar store! Uggg! Then, it was surely not me that proceeded to walk all around the store admiring the junk lining the shelves! Since we were not in the dollar store, it was certainly not my kid that puked all in the check out line either! Good thing too, that might have been majorly embarrassing! So I guess that means that it was also not my kid that continued to be sick for the rest of the day and night either! Ugg...2 down, 4 to go? Lord I hope not. I do not know how much more puking I can handle in this house!

When watching tv and not pigging out on Baskin Robbin Baseball Nut ice cream, it was also not my kid that would not go to sleep for anything! The second night in a row that Tutti-Frutti will not even GO to sleep at night, much less stay asleep! What is wrong with this kid?!? He used to be such a wonderful sleeper!! Uggg! And, after finally getting him to sleep and in bed, it was not my kid that woke up screaming, making daddy and I positive that the bed was getting a real run for it's money. It was not us that ran down the hall full speed ahead to check out the situation! Wheew, only a nightmare! Poor Boog, what a day he had. Wish me luck that today is not much better! Eh, not looking like it, Tutti-Frutti has been up all night, and out of bed since 5:30am, pretty much screaming or crying or whining...again I ask, why won't this kid sleep?

Now that you have read about my boring week, go check out some exciting happenings over at MckMama's site, I am sure she will have some good ones since she has not been the ring leader of the fantastic follies lately. Have a great week and happy Not me'ing!

  3. Love your NMM. Your children are beautiful. We both have a similiar experience this week. My son (2yrs) also had a hernia repaired, along with two other issues. So glad he recovered so well.
