Not me! Monday

First of all I am sure you noticed, Not me! Monday got a makeover. Don'tcha just love it? Welcome to the one day a week that you can let loose and confess all of your short comings, wrong doings, parental mistakes and let it all hang out! I mean seriously, come on...join in for some free therapy! When you are finished here, hop on over to MckMama's and see what everyone else has not been doing!

Welcome and let me start by saying that this was not the longest week in recent (or not so recent) history around our house! Wheew! Normally, I hate to see Mondays come but this week I am hoping it brings about change in our house.

As you know, we did not just get home from the most fantastic vacation ever. Well, since we were gone for over 2 weeks, we did not have so much stinkin' (no pun intended) laundry that I thought I would never see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am not still working on the laundry by the way.

I am also not still trying to unpack and put things away. Nope, not me. Haven't we had this discussion already? I am the most organized person you will ever meet so that would never be me!

I do not still have souvenirs that the children do not even know about, packed up and hidden. Nope, not me. I hardly bought anything while we are gone.

I do not wish we were still gone!

Since being home, I have not taken 3/4 of our children to the doctor. I have also not taken 1 of the children 4 times! Yes, 4! Including a trip to the hospital for blood work then back to the ER on the same day! Nope, my children are perfectly healthy!

The child I took to the ER was also not almost admitted on the same night, only to be released at 11:45pm. (Just so you know, Sour Apple had been at camp and I received a phone call on Tuesday to go and pick him up. He had a fever and had slept most of the afternoon. Well, anyone who knows him, knows he does not nap! EVER! I took him to the doctor on Wednesday, they thought it was the flu. He was achy and feverish. By Thursday, he could not move. His body hurt so badly that he was unable to walk or get around. I had my mother come over and help me take him back in to the pediatrician. They did a flu test, it was negative. He was still running over 102 fever and exhausted. They had me take him to the hospital for blood work. It all came back normal, except for his electrolytes and sodium. His sodium was really low, his electrolytes were really off and his white cells were low. They had me return him that evening to the ER to have the blood work repeated. He got IV fluids and more tests run. They did a chest xray. This time around, all of the results were in normal range, thank God! His white cells were still low but we were allowed to go home. He is feeling much better now. They think it was some kind of virus and that maybe because of that, he got dehydrated at camp and just fell apart. Wheew. What a week for him. He is still sore from everything but is feeling MUCH better!)

I did not go to my orthopaedic doctor on Tuesday. Therefore, I was not told that I could start weaning (I already had been) myself from my fancy black space boot. He told me to try to walk at home without it but to wear either the boot or the (really uncomfortable and bulky) ankle brace he sent me home with. He also wanted me to go to physical therapy 2-3 days per week to which I did not laugh out loud and state that there was no way I could do that #1 during the summer, #2 with 4 kids, #3 without my husband to help! The man must be crazy, the office would never be the same after we left! So...needless to say, he sent me home with a list of things I can do at home. UGG! They hurt! He did say that the fracture was healing nicely but there was still evidence of a really bad sprain. Yay! Fantastic...just what I need, it might never heal!

The good news is, I can walk fairly nicely at home without the boot, but honestly I am afraid to walk when I am out away from home without it. Even before the accident, it would sometimes just give away for no reason. I am kinda scared of walking on uneven ground, especially since most of the time I am carrying/slinging/wearing Tutti-Frutti. I would just die if I fell and hurt my precious little fellow. And besides, I do not think my shoes will even go on that foot. It is still really tender and swollen.

On a great note, I did not just hear that one of my best friends (who deserted me and moved away to Wyoming (seriously, Wyoming!) ) is in town (or should I say state?) and will be coming to stay with us for a few days. I am not so freakin' excited that I can barely contain myself!

One last confession...I do not feel absolutely horrible that I have still been unable to post any more vacation photos. I just knew for sure I could at least get a few more days worth of pictures up. My connection gives me problems when I try to load multiple photos and I have had a week from H E (double hockey sticks)! Wish me luck getting something done about them this week. If you have any suggestions as to how/where/what to do with them instead of trying to get a bunch on this page so people can see them, please leave me a comment and let me know! Thanks in advance, I know you are some crafty people!

Since I confessed about the vacation pictures, I will add that while gone on vacation, I did not meet up with one of my fantastically funny bloggy friends! It was awesome to meet her in person, even though she thought I might actually be some crazy backwoods axe murderer and secretly brought a can of mace to protect herself...you know, just in case! (More to come on that story later. NO not the mace in her purse...our fantastic meeting!) Since that did not happen, you will not find picture proof below!

Hope you had a few laughs at my expense, now head on over to my charming kids and have a few more!

Happy not me'ing! See you next time. Y'all come back now, ya hear?
